Writing

The First Five Pages: A Writer's Guide to Staying Out of the Rejection Pile by Noah Lukeman Thought for the Writer's Day: Free Audiobooks

This whole audiobook project is intriguing. I've recorded about 20 takes of the fifth part of the American Invisible, Inc., and I don't like any of them.

When you write, it's tempting to let a section go even if you don't think it's your best work. But when you're reading it out loud to a microphone, that's a whole different thing. Every rough edge becomes painfully evident.

I'm going to press on, and I'll release each section as soon as I feel comfortable. Thanks for being patient.

Quote for the Writer's Day:

"TV... really is about the last thing an aspiring writer needs." From On Writing by Stephen King.
