Writing

Thought for the Writer's Day: How
Can I Get Famous as a Writer?
Regular readers know that I'm working to turn one of
my novels into a free online audiobook served from this
site. Listening to NPR this evening in the car, I learned
that the market for audiobooks in 2005 was more than
$800 million. That's the year before last; the figure
must be better than one billion now.
What's more, audiobook downloads are gaining in popularity,
according to the report.
If you want to make a name as a writer, homemade audiobooks
are an interesting option. With very little money and
fairly little time, you can put together your own audiobook.
I've written extensively
on this subject. Making an audiobook is almost identical
to making a bunch of podcasts.
 | How Much Do You Read? How many books have you read so far this year? It pays to keep a list, especially if you're a slow reader like me.
