Writing

Thought for the Writer's Day: How
Can I Get a Novel Published?
I was talking to a writer today. She was probably about
40 years old, and very serious about seeing a novel
in print. She asked me how to get a published, and I
launched into my standard list of questions.
Q: How many novels had she finished?
A: Three.
Q: Were they really finished, or just first drafts?
A: First drafts.
Q: Had anyone else read them?
A: No.
Q: Did she have a copy of
Writer's Market 2007
on her desk?
A: She had the 2005 edition.
Q: Had she contacted any agents?
A: No, she didn't feel she was quite ready.
Q: Had she selected a list a publishers who publish
the kind of fiction she writes?
A: No.
Q: Had she attended any conventions recently?
A: No.
Am I the only one who sees a problem here?

"Going here and clicking on the button once a day may help save a life. That's not too much to ask, is it?" Nope.
