Writing

Thought for the Writer's Day: How
To Succeed as a Writer
Writers are all readers, and unpublished novelists
inhabit a curious half-world that is hard to define
- are they consumers of fiction or producers?
On Writing
is my favorite Stephen King book. As well as writing
prolifically, he reads dozens of books each year. I
don't particularly detect any humility here. I think
he just reads because he likes to.
The idea of a superstar writer being an avid reader
is surprising and appealing. If you ever get a book
published, Stephen King might read it. Wow. Of course,
the moral here is that writers need to read. Reading
and writing are two sides of the same coin.
 | Help Someone Today, and it Won't Even Cost You a Penny: American Invisible readers have helped to raise funds for more than 14,000 thousand free mammograms, after reader Nucklehead Ed drew our attention to this good cause. "Going here and clicking on the button once a day may help save a life. That's not too much to ask, is it?" Nope.
