Writing
Thought for the Writer's Day: How Can
I Write Better?
I say this again and again, because it's worth repeating.
If you want to write better, go out and do something
different.
Last week, I helped a friend apply for a sales job
that she found on monster.com. She uploaded her resume,
then landed on a web page that prompted her to add her
address and phone numbers, and then the application
process seized control and led her into a three-hour
personality test. The company was a reputable one, but
the test was an eye opener.
"Do you have difficulty coping with aggressive
people?"
"How do you deal with rejection? Do you take it
personally?"
"If you fail, who do you blame?"
"Do people usually do what you tell them?"
"Would your friends say that you're competitive?"
"Are you usually willing to do whatever it takes
to succeed?"
I'm not making this up. But I have a question of my
own. Doesn't this tell us a lot about sales jobs, and
sales people, and firms who hire sales people?
This will feed into my writing one day very easily.

"Going here and clicking on the button once a day may help save a life. That's not too much to ask, is it?" Nope.
