Writing

The Forest for the Trees by Betsy Lerner Thought for the Writer's Day: How Can I Make Money as a Writer?

It's miserable when you're struggling, I know, but never stop networking.

In the past months, my network contacts have helped me to find an extra writing project that boosts my income by $1,500 a month and I've volunteered on a project headed up by an internationally famous author and film maker.

Such opportunities make a huge different. They don't come along very often but the writers who grab them are the writers who look for them every day.

Quote for the Writer's Day:

"Trust me on this one: Editors know what makes a good book. The questions an editor wants answered in a proposal are the same questions you must address to write a worthwhile book." From Thinking Like Your Editor by Susan Rabiner and Alfred Fortunato.

The Best Books Ever Written:

Here's our daily guilt trip for writers. You owe it to yourself to work your way through the 200 best books ever written. Did you ever read To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee?
